Today was the performance for the kids programme – Ritmo y Color, the free week’s summer camp for local children that ran as part of Liquid Heat.
The kids got to learn Cuban popular dances, rhythm, and art Cuban style – from a Cuban teacher – in the gallery space.
Dancer Luanda Pau put together a great programme, so the kids, inspired by the photography installation, painted their own T shirts that they wore as costumes, and learnt the choreography for the final show on the last day. We were so moved and proud to see the kids had a full audience of proud parents, family members, local community members who all came along to watch.
